(despre frunzele mişcate de vânt, despre ape etc.) a produce un zgomot slab şi continuu; a şuşui, a şoşoi, a foşni, a fâşâi, a şuşoti, a murmura, a susura. 2. (despre copiii mici) a linişti, a adormi prin repetarea prelungită şi monotonă a sunetului ş; a şuşui. 3. a şuiera.
