SASANÍD, -Ă adj. Referitor la dinastia Sasanizilor din Iran. ♢ Arta sasanidă = arta dezvoltată în Iran în sec. III-VII, care se caracterizează prin monumentalitatea edificiilor şi, în general, a multora dintre operele sale (statui, reliefuri rupestre), ca şi prin reprezentarea unor scene de învestitură şi de luptă, de vânătoare şi de triumf, care preamăreşte puterea despotică a suveranilor.
