ghiátă (-ghéte), s.f.1. (Mold., înv.) Jambieră. – 2. Cizmă, bocanc. – var. (Mold.) ghetă, gheată. it. ghetta, din fr. guêtre (sec. XIX), cf. ngr. γϰέττα (REW 9577; DAR). Este dublet de la ghetră, s.f. (jambieră), din fr. guêtre. – Din rom. provine bg. g’ata (Capidan, Raporturile, 222).
