DUALÍSM s.n. 1. (op. m o n i s m) Concepţie filozofică potrivit căreia la baza existenţei stau două principii opuse şi ireductibile: materia şi spiritul, corpul şi sufletul, binele şi răul etc. 2. Dualismul austro-ungar = formă de conducere adoptată de monarhia austro-ungară după revoluţia din 1848, constând în alianţa păturilor conducătoare ale celor două naţiuni privilegiate (austriacă şi ungară).
