Der. tăpşi (var. tepşi), vb. (a egala, a netezi, a nivela, a răzui), cf. germ. tappsen, fr. taper (după Candrea şi Scriban, din mag. taposni "a călca în picioare", sb. tapsati "a bate din palme"); tapşe (var. teapşe), s.f. (polonic de lemn, sucitor; palmă), în Mold.; tăpşan, s.n. (mamelon, movilă, colină rotunjită; răzor; strat; pat, platformă), în Mold. tapşan, tepşan, topşan (după Cihac, II, 619, din tc. tepe "munte"; după Bogrea, Dacor., IV, 851, din rut. tapčan "platformă", care vine probabil din rom.; după Drăganu, Dacor., V, 372-5, din mag. taposni "a călca în picioare"); taponiş, s.m. (nemţişor, Delphinium consolida); tapoşnic, s.m. (plantă, Galeopsis ladanum); tăpălog (var. Mold. tăpălăgos), adj. (greoi la mers, neîndemînatic), cf. tălpăloagă; tăfăroagă, s.f. (brînză dulce, brînză abia făcută), probabil var. a cuvîntului anterior (după Bogrea, Dacor., II, 659 şi Candrea, din sl. tvarogù; după Diculescu, Elementele, 452, din gr. *τραφάλαϰα, în loc de τραφαλίς "brînză proaspătă"). – cf. terfă, terfeloagă.
