(înv., semnal), din sl. znamenije; de la znamăn (var. zneamăn, znemene, Banat zleamăn), s.n. (placă, lespede, mormînt), din sb. znamenje, zlamenje; şi din znamen, s.n. (ecuson, insignă militară), din rus. znamenĭ (Candrea).
