PROPRIETÁTE, proprietăţi, s.f. 1. Stăpânire deplină asupra unui bun; (concr.) bun material stăpânit, mai ales pământ (agricol) sau imobil, în baza unui drept recunoscut. ♢ Proprietate literară (sau artistică) = drept de care se bucură un autor de a dispune după voie de operele sale literare sau artistice, putându-le edita, reproduce etc. 2. Trăsătură predominantă care caracterizează o fiinţă, un lucru, un fenomen etc. şi care diferenţiază o fiinţă de alta, un lucru de altul etc.; caracteristică, trăsătură, însuşire. 3. Calitate a unui cuvânt, a unui termen, a stilului etc. de a reda exact ideea sau noţiunea exprimată. [pr.: -pri-e-] – Din fr. propriété, lat. proprietas, -atis.
