Curent în literatura, artele plastice şi cinematografia italiană contemporană, care se manifestă printr-o tendinţă de apropiere de faptul real, de viaţa cotidiană a oamenilor obişnuiţi. NEOREALÍSM s.n. 1. Curent filozofic contemporan care consideră că ontologia are o autonomie absolută faţă de gnoseologie, obiectul cunoaşterii constituind o "realitate" independentă de subiectul cunoscător şi de procesul cunoaşterii. 2. Curent în literatura, artele plastice şi cinematografia italiană contemporană, care se manifestă printr-o tendinţă de apropiere de faptul real, de viaţa cotidiană a oamenilor, prezentând, alături de personaje şi fenomene tipice, fapte brute, mărunte, nesemnificative.
