(persoană care trăieşte la mahala; vulgar, grosolan); mahalagesc, adj. (de mahala): mahalagioaică, s.f. (femeie vulgară); mahalagism, s.n. (cuvînt sau expresie trivială). Mală, s.f. (stradă), folosit în Banat, este dubletul lui mahala, din sb. mala (Candrea).
