IAMB, iambi, s.m. Picior de vers compus din două silabe, dintre care, în prozodia antică, prima este scurtă şi a doua lungă, iar în prozodia modernă, prima este neaccentuată, iar cea de-a doua accentuată. – Din fr. iambe, lat. iambus.
