hîd (hấdă), adj.Urît, diform, pocit. sl. chudŭ "josnic" (Cihac, II, 138; Conev 97; cf. DAR), cf. sb., cr., slov. hud "rău", rus. chudoi "rău", chudo "rău", pol. hydny "urît". – Der. hîzenie, s.f. (sluţenie); hîdos, adj. (rar, oribil), formaţie artificială, în care se combină hîd cu hidos, adj., din fr. hideux. Rut. chyd "obiect respingător" ar putea proveni din rom. (Candrea, Elemente, 408).
