geáne s.f. – Lume. Origine necunoscută. Numai în Banat. După DAR, în legătură cu alb. giri "castă", calabr. jenia, din gr. γενεά "creaţie". Diculescu, Elementele, 491 şi Giuglea, Dacor., III, 621, pleacă de la gr. γέννα "origine".
