DIELÉCTRIC, -Ă, dielectrici, -ce, adj., s.n. 1. adj. Care izolează din punct de vedere electric; izolator. ♢ Constantă dielectrică = raportul dintre capacitatea unui condensator electric care conţine între armături o substanţă izolatoare şi capacitatea aceluiaşi condensator când conţine între armături aer sau vid. 2. s.n. Material izolant din punct de vedere electric şi care se polarizează temporar când este introdus într-un câmp electric. [pr.: di-e-] – Din fr. diélectrique.
