dáltă (dắlţi), s.f. – Unealtă de oţel în formă de pană tăioasă. sl. dlato (Miklosich, Slaw. Elem., 21; Lexicon, 162; Cihac, II, 91; Conev 66), cf. bg. dlato, dleto, alb. dal’të. Metateza lichidei indică un împrumut foarte vechi, probabil anterior sec. XI (Rosetti, BL, XIV, 116), fiind poate unicul termen sl. de acest gen. Berneker 208 propunea ca etimon un sl. *dolto. cf. baltă. – Der. dăltui, vb. (a sculpta, a ciopli); dăltuitură, s.f. (dăltuire, cioplire); dăltuitor, s.m. (cioplitor).
