CUMÁN, -Ă, cumani, -e, s.m. şi f., adj. 1. s.m. şi f. Persoană aparţinând unei populaţii de neam turcic care, migrând dinspre est, în sec. XI s-a aşezat pe teritoriul ţărilor româneşti, unde, în parte a fost asimilată de populaţia românească. 2. adj. Care aparţine cumanilor (1), privitor la cumani. – Din fr. Cumanes.
