COSMÉTIC, -Ă, cosmetici, -ce, adj., subst. I. 1. adj. Care serveşte la îngrijirea feţei sau a părului. 2. s.n. cremă sau loţiune care serveşte la îngrijirea feţei sau a părului. II. 1. s.f. Arta de a îngriji în mod igienic tenul, întrebuinţând metode şi preparate adecvate; profesiunea cosmeticianului. ♦ Ramură a industriei chimico-farmaceutice care se ocupă cu fabricarea cosmeticelor (I 2). 2. adj. Care ţine de cosmetică (II 1), privitor la cosmetică. Laborator cosmetic. – Din fr. cosmétique.
