COPT2, COAPTĂ, copţi, coapte, adj. I. 1. (Despre alimente) Care a fost supus, fără apă sau alt lichid, acţiunii focului pentru a putea fi mâncat. ♢ expr. (fam.) Mort-copt = cu orice preţ, necondiţionat, neapărat. 2. (Despre fructe şi plante) Ajuns la deplină dezvoltare sub acţiunea unor condiţii naturale; bun de mâncat. ♢ expr. Pică de coaptă! = a) excesiv de copt, foarte copt; b) (fig.) întrece măsura obişnuită, formidabil, culmea! II. fig. 1. (Despre acţiuni, situaţii, condiţii etc.) Care e gata, bun (de)..., potrivit (să)..., pregătit (pentru)... 2. (Despre oameni sau despre mintea, gândurile lor) Matur, deplin dezvoltat. III. (Despre abcese, bube etc.) Care a făcut puroi şi este gata să se spargă. – lat. coctus.

Măr copt. Cireşe coapte. ♢ Mort-copt în orice condiţii; cu orice preţ. 3) fig. (despre oameni) Care are suficientă experienţă de viaţă; ajuns la maturitate; matur. ♢ Om copt la minte om cu bună judecată; om serios. 4) (despre stări de lucruri) Care este de acum gata de ceva; ajuns în faza superioară de dezvoltare. 5) (de-spre abcese) Care a făcut puroi şi este gata să se spargă. /<lat. coctus
