ŞÍPOT, şipote, s.n. 1. Izvor a cărui apă ţâşneşte cu putere (şi care este captată printr-un jgheab sau printr-o ţeavă). ♦ Jgheab, ţeavă prin care se captează apa unui izvor. ♦ Ţeavă de scurgere; burlan. 2. (reg.) Loc unde o apă curge repede; vârtej. – cf. bg. š e p o t "murmur".
