MASORÁ s.f. Note critice, glose pe marginea manuscriselor sacre ebraice, realizate înaintea secolului al X-lea e.n., cu scopul de a corecta si fixa textul Vechiului Testament ebraic pentru a evita denaturări la transmiterea sa. ♦ (prin metonimie) Textul Vechiului Testament însuşi ca alcătuire şi transmitere în funcţie de principiile criticilor din textele şi exegezele masoreţilor (masoret). (< fr. massore, massorah, engl. Masora(h) < ebr. mod. mªsōrā < ebr. veche māsōreth = tradiţie < ebr. māsar = a transmite) [şi TLF, MW]
