comán s.n. – Diavolul. Cuvînt rar, atestat o singură dată, în Mold. După DAR, de la numele cumanilor, popor turanic care a ocupat partea răsăriteană a României în sec. XI-XIII; însă această ipoteză este puţin probabilă. Este posibil să fie vorba de un der. cu suf.man, de tipul *drăcoman, cf. gogoman, hoţoman, pronunţat pe jumătate din scrupule de tip tabu.
