TREPÁN, trepane, s.n. 1. Instrument de chirurgie în formă de sfredel, folosit la trepanaţii; p. ext. operaţie făcută cu acest instrument. 2. Instrument de sculptură, folosit pentru a face perforaţii adânci în piatră şi în marmură. 3. Un fel de sapă mare, întrebuinţată la forarea (fora) găurilor de sondă. – Din fr. trépan.
